Under the premise of the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí: “With everyone and for the good of all”, the event will end next Saturday, date marking the closing of the world tribute to the 170th anniversary of the Apostle’s birth.
During the opening of the event, the children’s company La Colmenita, directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata, displayed their talent and evoked some of Martí’s verses, phrases and thoughts, which have accompanied the development of several generations of Cubans.
In the opening words of the meeting, Héctor Hernández Pardo, Coordinator of the José Martí project of International Solidarity, recalled the evolution of this meeting that brought together twenty nations at the beginning and currently borders on 87 countries and 1,100 participants.
Likewise, the deputy director general of the Office of the Martí Program, highlighted the efforts of the leadership of the Cuban government to coordinate and specify the celebration of this conclave, with the support of local institutions, which also joined the spaces for debate, presentations and exhibitions.
The forum for plural and multidisciplinary thought, convened by the José Martí International Solidarity Project, has the support of global entities such as the United Nations Organization for Science, Education and Culture (Unesco), highlighted Hernández Pardo.
The event’s program seeks to promote dialogue around the problems facing the planet today, with a plural and multidisciplinary approach in promoting joint solutions, hand in hand with intellectuals, scientists, politicians and trade unionists, explained its organizers.
To this end, the program includes magisterial conferences, the youth forum “With all and for the good of all”, a colloquium of historians, a congress on the new international order and an intergovernmental panel to address climate change, and for the first time within of the event, a meeting of Marti professors.
