Russian troops foil Ukrainian offensive plan in Zaporozhye

Moscow, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Armed Forces frustrated a Ukrainian offensive aimed at recovering the coast of the Azov Sea thanks to a preventive attack, said the deputy governor of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov.

As the official published on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian nationalist units were detected concentrating in the north of the province, planning to launch a counter-offensive aimed at recovering territory.

Rogov explained that the Russian army conducted an artillery strike against the Ukrainian grouping, followed by an infantry attack on enemy positions, causing them numerous losses in men and matériel and as said,frustrating the offensive.

Faced with this situation, the Ukrainian units were forced to displace reserves from the Donetsk line to stabilize the front in Zaporozhye, the spokesman added.

A few days ago it became known that Russia is carrying out offensive operations in some sectors of the Zaporozhye front, mainly in the direction of Orekhov and Guliaypole.
