The Foreign Secretariat listed four pre-Hispanic figurines, six pieces of talavera and a mammoth molar, which were delivered to the federal Secretariat of Culture through the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).
The Secretariat assured that the archeological, paleontological and historic pieces recovered, in accordance with the Federal Law on Archeological, Artistic and Historical Monuments and Zones, are part of Mexico’s cultural heritage.
The restitution of these pieces, the Foreign Secretariat, is an example of the cooperation between the Mexican Government and various countries in the protection of the heritage, as well as an example of international best practices for the preservation of the historical past of nations.
The Government of Mexico reaffirms its commitment to actively participating in the strengthening of national and international legal frameworks for the protection of cultural heritage.
