Cuban President Diaz-Canel reiterates need for global solidarity

Havana, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Sunday repeated the need for international solidarity and the promotion of dialogue to resolve conflicts worldwide.

On his Twitter account, the president pointed out that “the solidarity that we have given and submitted as an inalienable value and principle of the Revolution could not be blocked, just as the peoples’ awareness cannot be blocked. Let us insist on the most difficult task: balancing the world.”

The Cuban head of State returned to the central ideas of his speech on Saturday at the closing ceremony of the 5th International Conference for the World’s Balance, held in this capital with the participation of more than 1,100 delegates from nearly 90 countries, as a closure of the world day of tribute to Jose Marti on his 170th birthday.

In his address, Diaz-Canel invited to hold plural dialogue, which is promoted by this forum of thought, in order to build a fair and sustainable future, based on respect and unity among peoples, and highlighted the validity of Mart’s ideology, which raised solidarity as a premise and is a basic principle of the Revolution’s policy.

“Sowing ideas and awareness continues being the answer,” said the president, adding that “today more than ever we need appropriate spaces to listen to each other, to reason collectively, to understand each other, to approach each other in everything we may have in common.”

Diaz-Canel stressed the need to work on education, to build a world in peace, “impose dialogue on force and create a way of thinking that allows us to face the challenges of the 21st century.”
