Russian Army continues offensive in Donetsk and Zaporozhye

Moscow, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Armed Forces continue their offensive in the southern area of the Donetsk People's Republic and in the Zaporozhye region, Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov reported on Sunday.

The military spokesman noted at his regular press conference that the units of the Vostok detachment followed the advance and defeated the enemy in the areas of Ugledar, Prechistovka and Shevchenko in Donetsk, and Dorozhiana in Zaporozhye province.

Konashenkov pointed out that the Ukrainian army’s losses in those territories in 24 hours totaled 100 soldiers, including dead and wounded, and one tank, two armored vehicles, three pickup trucks, two cars and two Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers were destroyed.

Meanwhile, the aviation and artillery of the Western group of Russian forces attacked troops and equipment of Ukrainian units in Kupiansk, annihilating 50 soldiers, and destroying an armored personnel carrier and an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer, the spokesman added.

In Krasny Liman, the Russian aviation and artillery attacked gatherings of the 92nd, 25th, and 80th Ukrainian assault brigades causing more than 110 casualties among the troops, and the destruction of five armored vehicles, a Nona S cannon and a Grad multiple rocket launchers, he added.

Konashenkov stressed that the anti-aircraft defense intercepted 16 projectiles from HIMARS, Olja and Uragan multiple rocket launchers in different areas of Donetsk and Kherson.
