Iran facility attacked by drones suffered minimal damage

Tehran Jan 30 (Prensa Latina) Published satellite images show that there was no significant damage to the complex belonging to the Iranian Defense Ministry, attacked by drones on Saturday.

The Defense Express website showed on Monday the images captured on Sunday by the SkySat satellite of the facility, located in the city of Isfahan, in central Iran, and which according to reports was attacked unsuccessfully.

Early Sunday morning, the Iranian Defense Ministry announced the attack and assured that there were no human casualties and there was only minor damage to the roof.

By publishing the images and comparing them with photos of the center taken last November 26th, Defense Express confirmed that no significant damage is observed, much less the complete destruction of the military installation as previously announced elsewhere.

Although the Iranian authorities did not point to any country or organization as responsible for the attack, Al-Arabiya reported that the US Air Force and another country’s Air Force were involved in it, but Pentagon sources were quick to deny any involvement.

According to The Wall Street Journal report, citing persons familiar with the operation and members of the US government, Israel carried out an undercover attack against an Iranian defense complex using drones.

In his first reaction to the event, Foreign Minister Hosein Amir Abdolahian described it as a cowardly action and assured that it was part of the efforts carried out in recent months by enemies to undermine national security.
