According to Judge Bienvenida Arauz, prison sentences of 70, 60 and 64 months were also handed down to four people accused of the same crimes.
The Prosecutor’s Office, in the Napoleon operation, determined that these citizens were part of a network dedicated to drug trafficking and authorities are still on the trail of Abdiel Vega (alias Milo), alleged leader of the criminal organization, who is still at large.
The Drug Prosecutor’s Office began investigating this case in 2021 and said that the gang maintained a wide network of collaborators and front men in whose name they had numerous assets, including residences, farms, yachts and cars.
They also used a private foundation to move the money from their criminal activity, especially in the area of Pedregal, Las Lomas and David in the province of Chiriqui.
On January 25, the MP also confirmed the arrests of 39 people linked to the crimes of gangsterism and money laundering.
The statement highlights that the arrests of these citizens were the result of operations Napoleon and Fixar, carried out jointly with the National Police in the western provinces of Chiriqui, Bocas del Toro and Veraguas, where they also seized seven vehicles, a boat, a firearm, cash and clothing.
