According to the Aviation Industry Corporation, the aircraft is performing the required flights in the Yanliang district of Xi’an, located in the northwestern province of Shaanxi, and will undergo various types of tests, including a static test.
That step follows several others conducted last year and in which the aircraft completed the objectives of collecting 12 tons of water in just 15 seconds and then discharging it at a given target.
During the operations, the aircraft demonstrated stability, remained in good conditions and proved its capability for emergency missions.
In addition, two companies have already signed contracts with the said Corporation to purchase six units.
The Kunlong is a Chinese-made amphibious seaplane which earlier this month completed its first test flight over the southern city of Zhuhai. It is one of four prototypes of the AG600M model and its main task will be firefighting.
