Dominican Republic reports four new cholera cases

Santo Domingo, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) Dominican Public Health Ministry on Wednesday reported four new cases of cholera, bringing total to 47.

The new cases were reported in Solares del Almirante and Villa Liberación municipalities, in Santo Domingo.

Eleven people are currently hospitalized due to cholera suspicion.

Dominican Republic started vaccinating against cholera past Wednesday, two days after the arrival of first 85,000-batch thanks to PAHO´s assistance.

The Carinbbean nation confirmed its first cholrea case past October 2022, corresponding to a 32-year-old Haitian woman.
