CubaCoop for united European action against US blockade on Cuba

Paris, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) The Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop) association called on Europeans to join efforts to put an end to the U.S. blockade against the island, which it described as an injustice.

In a publication on the organization’s website, its president, Victor Fernandez, considered urgent the joint action from the diversity of opinions in Europe in front of the aggressive economic, commercial and financial policy that, due to its extraterritorial impact, also attacks companies, banks and citizens of the old continent.

In this regard, he requested support for the petition delivered last month to the European Parliament together with associations from Spain, Italy and Sweden, demanding immediate actions against the blockade and its extraterritorial nature.

The text, subscribed by CubaCoop, the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Spain, the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship and the Swedish-Cuban Association of Solidarity, asks institutions of the European Union (EU) for concrete responses and the use of the legal tools available to confront the siege and its consequences.

The petition is open for signature online at https://sites.google.com/view/petition-europenne/signer-la-pétition.

According to the president of the organization, France and the EU should apply all the resolutions of the UN, which year after year demands from its General Assembly and almost unanimously the lifting of the blockade.
