North Korea giving priority to professional training

Pyongyang, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina)The Kim Chaek University of Technology of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has made it a priority to train scientific and technical talents for the future development of the nation.

The faculty is taking measures to strengthen the ideological-political education and training system, accelerate the preparation of researchers so they can to achieve the first category, according to the new system of educational administration, KCNA news agency reported on Saturday.

This priority in higher education stems from the policies outlined at the 6th Plenary Session of the 8th Party Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The faculties and departments are renewing their curricula with a view to improving students’ understanding and promoting the introduction of advanced science and interface subjects and the drafting of teaching programs for them.

For this purpose, they apply the advanced didactic contents and improve the qualitative level of writing the necessary manuals and videos, emphasizing the practical, universal and modern character, taking advantage of advantageous teaching methods.

They also improve the teaching environment and professionalism of educators, while preparing the conditions for teachers, researchers, students and doctoral students to engage in teaching, study and scientific research, according to the sources.
