According to the local Foreign Ministry, the monarch will be accompanied by Queen Letizia and his first official activity in Luanda will be to pay homage to the first president of the Republic, António Agostinho Neto, at the Memorial where the mortal remains of the distinguished African statesman rest.
Felipe VI will then go to the Presidential Palace in “Cidade Alta”, where he will be received by the Angolan head of state and government, with due protocol honors, the announcement said.
During his 72-hour visit, the Iberian dignitary will also deliver a speech before the deputies of the National Assembly (Parliament), in an extraordinary plenary session organized for the occasion.
According to Mirex, another highlight of the program will be the holding of a bilateral business forum, in which the Spanish king and Joao Lourenço will speak.
