Uruguay’s FA calls for preserving unity

Uruguay’s FA calls for preserving unity

Montevideo, Feb 6 (Prensa Latina) Uruguay's Broad Front (Frente Amplio-FA) has the imperative to maintain unity when pre-electoral times are coming and pre-candidates are emerging in its ranks.

This message was reiterated during the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of the main Uruguayan left-wing coalition, founded on February 5, 1971. This alliance seeks to win the October 2024 elections and return to power in 2025.

Today again, the FA is the largest party in Uruguay according to all opinion polls, Fernando Pereira, the president of that political force, said at an event held in the Canelones department.

“Building a new majority requires a firm unity,” Pereira said and added, “we cannot fail the Uruguayan people.”

There are comrades in the coalition to replace the historical leaders, including former President José Mujica, who attended the commemoration, he stated.

He predicted that the FA will win if it has ‘the organization that makes it possible to reach all households’ to carry its message.
