The author’s meeting with the public attending one of the main venues of the literary event: Havana’s Historic Center, will take place on February 11 at the Jose Lezama Lima Hall of the University of San Jeronimo.
Organized by the Cuban Book Institute and the Gabriela Mistral branch of the Chilean Writers Society, the presentation will approach a work of painful content, as it tells a story of misfortunes, separation, sadness, love and heartbreak.
The novel, whose main character is Vladimir Vergara, a poor boy who wanders the streets, reflects on the social, political and economic implications caused by the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship’s repression after the coup d’état against President Salvador Allende.
It is not the first time that Aguilera Gonzalez takes part in Cuba’s Book Fair, as in 2022 he joined the event’s program and previously brought his novel ‘Ochun camina sola bajo la lluvia’ (Ochun Walks alone in the Rain), set in Cuba.
