The secretary general of the province of Latakia, Rifaat Muhammad, announced that the victims statistics in the province increased to 506 dead and 792 wounded, while 102 buildings have collapsed.
In turn, the director of the Civil Defense of Latakia, General Jalal Daud, announced that a man and a woman were rescued alive after 55 hours under the rubble.
In Aleppo, the provincial authorities confirmed, so far, 390 deaths and 750 wounded while the number of collapsed buildings reached 54.
According to the latest figures, Education Minister Darem Tabaa revealed that the total number of schools affected by the earthquake in the country reached 248 so far, including 71 in Aleppo, 50 in Latakia, 27 in Hama, 99 in Tartous and one school in rural Idlib.
