The Colombian Minister of Culture, Patricia Ariza, the country’s guest of honor, will participate in the event, and the titles El cine según García Márquez, and Los amores contrariados will be presented. García Márquez and the cinema, from Ediciones ICAIC, according to a note from the La Jiribilla portal.

Said publishing house will organize the Colloquium in the Nicolás Guillén room, in La Cabaña, together with the New Latin American Cinema Foundation, and according to the program both books will be available in digital and printed format.

The title Cinema according to García Márquez refers to Gabo’s considerations about one of his great passions: cinema. The work Los amores contrariadas. García Márquez y el cine, is in charge of analyzing the codes and languages of the literary texts that were taken to the big screen, the source reported.

From February 9 to 19, the 31st Havana International Book Fair 2023 will take place in La Cabaña and other venues, dedicated to the centenary Fina García Marruz and Antonio Núñez Jiménez, distinguished figures of Cuba. The festival of letters also pays homage to Araceli García Carranza and Julio Travieso Serrano, important intellectuals of the nation.
