During his speech on the occasion, Kim Jong Un said, “In the long history of struggle of our people, the People’s Army has written an epic of proud tradition, marked by victory and honor.

Te general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) remembered the officers and soldiers of the past generations and praised the work of the soldiers who are now serving relentlessly at the frontline and border posts.

On behalf of our party and government, I pay tribute to the revolutionary martyrs, respectable war veterans and deceased commanding officers who prepared the origin of our tradition of victory to be handed down forever in the revolutionary armed forces, Kim said.

The DPRK chairman also thanked the families of the officers and soldiers who are sincerely contributing to the enhancement of the country’s defense potential, fully supporting the WPK’s line on building a powerful army and a strong national defense policy.
