The president of the CMD, Senen Caba, told the press that with these actions the Union will deepen its struggle, in view of the refusal of the National Social Security Council (CNSS) to meet its demands.
The CNSS did not care about patients with mental disorders, the disabled, or doctors, who in their daily practice only make a living from consultations. he said.
He added that ‘the Council irresponsibly preferred to throw overboard our willingness to seek, through consultation and dialogue, a social security which would compensate the population with an adequate health plan and increase the quota allocated to the affiliated members for the purchase of medicines’, he said.
The day before, the union carried out a march in the province of Barahona, joined by various sectors of the society, against the ARS and the Health Fund Insurers, considering that doctors’ demands were just.
