The meeting with the Cuban president, accompanied by seven candidates to the National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) for this central city, was joined by other neighbours of the Capiro-Sandino community.
This development and research center teaches ballet, dance and music, and is also the headquarters of the Oché Folkloric Ensemble, directed by Víctor Miranda and Danza del Alma, under the tutelage of maestro Ernesto Alejo.
Thursday’s tour also includes a meeting with athletes and coaches of the Héctor Ruiz Sports Initiation School (EIDE) of Villa Clara, which will be joined by workers and neighbours of the Manajanabo community.
There will also be an exchange with commercial and gastronomic employees at the Arcoíris recreational center, and later at the Ernesto Guevara Cardiocentro expansion site with medical personnel and neighbors of the community, as well as another contact with the population in the surroundings of Leoncio Vidal Park.
This is the third time, that the Cuban president, in his capacity as candidate for deputy, has visited the territory of Santa Clara.
Previously, on February 6 and 7 of this year, he visited university centers, factories, meetings with young people and urban communities.
The group of deputy candidates for Santa Clara is also integrated by the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party and the Governor of Villa Clara, Osnay Miguel Colina and Alberto López, respectively, the president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac), Luis Morlote, and other comrades representing the municipal leadership and grassroots delegates.
