Russian army occupies Yagodnoye town in Donetsk

Moscow, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) Russian troops took complete control over the town of Yagodnoye in the north of Artiomovsk, in the Donetsk People's Republic, announced today the leader of the Wagner military group, Evgeny Prigozhin.

As Prigozhin published on his Telegram channel this Saturday, Wagner’s assault groups control the settlement located very close to Artiomovsk (Bajmut for Ukrainians), and he published photos of his fighters posing at the entrance to the town.

Prigozhin also said that Ukrainian troops blew up the Severny Stavok reservoir, also located in the city of Artiomovsk.

Earlier, the adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Yan Gaguin, reported that local authorities had received the first reports that houses and basements where people were hiding from shelling had been flooded.

Artiomovsk is located 55 kilometers northeast of Donetsk and is an important logistics hub that supplies Ukrainian troops in Donbas.

The troops of that country and the military of Russia wage bitter combat for this city. Russian forces have already liberated several towns on the outskirts of Artiomovsk, including Klescheyevka, Podgorodnoye, Paraskoviyevka and Berkhovka.
