According to Cubainformación, the container was prepared in Torrejón de Ardoz, on the outskirts of Madrid, and it is laden with materials estimated at 100,000 euros to alleviate the effects of Hurricane Ian on more than 70 schools in Pinar del Rio.
The shipment consists of school furniture and educational materials, as well as donations of medical supplies obtained through different actions and solidarity campaigns in several Spanish regions.
The source pointed out that the cargo is part of the MESC campaign, managed with support from the Cuban Embassy in Spain, and it will leave the Bilbao port in the next few days.
Several associations, such as the Hispanic-Cuban Association of Malaga, the Euskadi-Cuba Association, MediCuba Spain, the Entrepueblos Association of Murcia, the Ernesto Guevara Association of Solidarity in Torrejón de Ardoz, and the Jose Marti Valencian Association for Friendship with Cuba, coordinated the donation.
The action is a political denunciation to demand the end of the United States blockade, which violates the human rights of the Cuban people and is the main obstacle to the country’s development, the MESC stressed.
