Cuba in Mexico’s anti-inflation plan with Latin American countries

Mexico City, Mar 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is included in the anti-inflation mutual aid plan for economic and trade growth with Latin American countries announced today by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In his morning press conference at the National Palace where he made an extensive report on the Mexican economy in which he highlighted direct foreign investments that are progressing like never before, the president revealed that he had already held talks with the presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Gustavo Petro, from Colombia, Miguel Díaz-Canel, from Cuba, and Alberto Fernández, from Argentina.

He said he is missing calls with Gabriel Boric, from Chile and Luis Arce, from Bolivia, although Fernández promised to contact them from Buenos Aires, and today he will do so with Xiomara Castro, from Honduras, because we are going to have an initial teleconference on April 15 first, and then a face-to-face.

The foreign ministers, ministers of Finance, Economy and Commerce are already agreeing to seek exchanges in the export and import sectors of food and other goods with the purpose of facing the high cost of life all together.

He said they are starting now, they are going to start the plan little by little and it will be expanded. It is an agreement and we are also going to invite distributors, merchants, importers, those who sell and understand, find prices, remove tariffs, remove barriers that prevent food from being obtained at a good price.
