Salvador keeps downward trend in deaths due to Covid-19

San Salvador, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) El Salvador keeps at zero the death toll so far in March after a month of February without fatalities due to Covid-19, the Health Ministry (Minsal) reported today.

After the three deaths in January of people between 50 and 80 years old, the authorities said that there were no more fatalities and the number of infected people also registered important decreases, including this Saturday only one person admitted for the disease.

At the end of 2022, the country reached a peak of 70 patients in February, but since then, there has been a drop in the number of affected people.

El Salvador maintains the positive trend in terms of days without deaths due to the pandemic, having recorded in January 2023 up to 28 days without deaths due to Covid-19.

These figures are the result of the effective management of the pandemic with available vaccines and nationwide surveys to achieve its containment and curb the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the health information pointed out.
