The head of State noted the extraordinary effort by the country’s healthcare personnel, despite the damage caused to hospitals.
He also highlighted the work by the rescue teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), teams of miners and other specialists who participated in the search works, which reached 271,000 people working in the areas affected by the earthquakes.
It is also estimated that more than 230,000 buildings were totally or partially destroyed and more than 3,20,000 people have been evacuated, 1.5 million of whom are in tents in the so-called container cities.
Another 160,000 victims are in shelters and 130,000 are in hotels set up for this purpose.
Including more than 6,000 deaths in Syria, according to AFAD data, more than 52,000 people have died as a result of the earthquakes in the region.
