Costa Rica to open Exhibition against women’s violence

San Jose, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) The Central Park of Alajuela hosts the ¨Las que ya no están¨ Exhibition, composed of 15 life-size female silhouettes in rejection of violence against women in Costa Rica.

The municipal government of Alajuela, chose the exhibition as one of the activities to be conducted on the occasion of Wednesday’s International Women’s Day.

The majestic event is supported by the Ministry of Justice and Peace, the Inter-institutional Technical Commission on Coexistence and Citizen Security Statistics and the Local Network for Attention and Prevention of Domestic Violence.

Sofia Gonzalez, deputy mayor of Alajuela and responsible for the municipal social area, said that with this exhibition they also pay tribute to all victims of femicide, hoping this violation of women’s human rights will never be repeated.

The 15 life-size silhouettes, representing the same number of female victims of femicide in 2021, will be exhibited at the central park of Alajuela through April 16, as another strategy to fight off gender violence.
