The officials announced that they have maintained communication at all times with the US authorities for the processing of all information related to the case.

They recalled that the events occurred last Friday, in the downtown area of the border city of Matamoros, bordering with Brownsville, Texas, where two confrontations between armed civilians took place.

For its part, the prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and carried out procedures such as the processing of vehicles, reconstructive ballistics tests, comparative ballistics tests for the percussion casings found at the site in order to identify the weapons used.

Also the lifting of fingerprints, which are already in the database for their identification; taking of biological samples for the extraction of genetic profiles, as well as the review and analysis of images from video surveillance cameras in the area.
