President Biden could announce re-election campaign in April

Washington, Mar 9 (Prensa Latina) President Joe Biden could announce in April his decision to run for a second term in the U.S. elections in 2024, The Hill newspaper reported Thursday.

In the meantime, everything indicates that Biden´s campaign team is looking for the most suitable person to lead the eventual campaign.

In this regard, they have already drawn up a list of veteran strategists, including Jenn Ridder, who served as national director of states for Biden’s campaign in 2020 and managed to mobilize a record number of votes for those elections, appears as major candidate for the time being.

Another possible candidate for the Presidency is Sam Cornale, executive director of the Democratic National Committee.

Biden is also said to be considering Emma Brown, who managed Sen. Mark Kelly’s successful re-election bid in Arizona last year, and Addisu Demissie, who led Sen. Cory Booker’s 2020 presidential bid.

In addition, Biden´s team also mentioned Quentin Fulks, who was at the helm of Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock’s campaign, and Julie Chavez Rodriguez, a senior White House aide who was deputy White House counsel to Biden’s over two years ago.

Joe Biden has managed the timing of his decision, first he said it would be on January, then rumors pointed to a date close to the State of the Union address which was in February, but soon after he warned he was “just not ready”.

The ruler, who turned 80 on November 20, became the longest serving president in national history and this is one of the topics that have fueled speculation about his political future.

On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump launched his campaign in past November and recently his former ambassador to the UN Nikkie Haley did the same too, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to publish his intentions quite soon.
