Havana, Mar 11 (Prensa Latina) Renowned artists of several generations will pay tribute in a concert on Saturday to the unforgettable Cuban artists Pablo Milanes and Elena Burke, who are icons of Cuban songs.

At the Covarrubias Hall of Havana’s Teatro Nacional, Hayla Mompie, Geidy Chapman, Idra Maria and her group, Leonor Zayas, Idania Valdes, Anais Abreu, and Rosalia Arnaes, among other performers, will revive songs made popular by Pablo and Elena.

This weekend, those artists will dedicate three tribute concerts directed by Maestro Santiago Alfonso, whose dance company will also animate the performances.

Pablo Milanes (1943-2022) was a singer-songwriter and a founder of Cuba’s New Song Movement. He was one of the most recognized musicians in Spanish-language music.

Elena Burke (1928-2002) was a beloved Cuban singer who had a repertoire of songs and genres such as boleros, beat, pop, son, romantic ballads, and filin, among others.
