This year’s edition offers more than 400 tourist destinations in France or abroad and a similar number of exhibitors, travel agencies, accommodations, recreational activities, among others, highlighting the unique destinations and nature tourism.
Cuba’s delegation is made up of representatives of hotel chains like Cubanacan, Blue Diamond, Iberostar and Melia, as well as the wholesale agencies Cubatur and Ecotur, the latter is specialized in adventure travel in the natural environment.
The inauguration of the event was attended by Cuban Ambassador to France Otto Vaillant Frias and the Counsellor for Tourism, Rosa Gonzalez Montesino, as well as the communication specialist from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, Indira Valdes, along with the rest of the staff that makes up the delegation to the fair.
One of the objectives of this event is to make visible Cuba’s ecological tourism offers in order to increase the number of French travelers, the head of Ecotur at the fair, Suany Bango, told Prensa Latina.
She stressed the importance of the French market, and pointed out that ‘for Ecotur, it represents 60-68 percent of the clients it receives.’ She explained that their preferences when it comes to choosing activities are ‘hiking routes and camping in natural sites.’
