Yosvany Cuellar, in charge of primary health care in Matanzas, said his province´s goal is to reinforce the family doctor and nurse program in polyclinics by completing basic structures and personnel in each community to guarantee a better health care service.

Cuellar also explained that in terms of geriatric services, multidisciplinary teams were established which, in addition to medical specialists, include social workers and psychologists.

Health centers including the Samuel Fernandez Polyclinic, one of the most important in the province, has among its work priorities to complte basic health team.
