In an interview granted to Prensa Latina, the president of the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in La Paz, Jorge Barron, explained that during a visit to Buenos Aires and Rosario, he is participating in meetings to define initiatives to denounce the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington on Cuba for more than 60 years.
He pointed out that Cuba’s exclusion from a list of alleged sponsors of terrorism drawn up by the United States will be demanded.
We want to consolidate joint projects and join the solidarity groups created in numerous Latin American nations and the world.
In Bolivia, support for Cuba came since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, which inspired young people who would later make up Ernesto Che Guevara’s guerrilla movement (1928-1967), Barron pointed out.
That unprecedented process of transformation was a hope for Latin America. Fidel Castro (1926-2016), Che, Raul Castro and Camilo Cienfuegos (1932-1959), among others, showed that it was possible to fight against injustice and end a dictatorship like that of Fulgencio Batista (1901-1973), he added.
The activist considered that 64 years after that epic, it is essential to join efforts in the region and the world to demand an end to the blockade and US aggression that try to suffocate the Cuban people.
