According to the press office of the Syrian presidency, the two leaders discussed issues related to the historic bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, in addition to economic cooperation.
They highlighted the positive events taking place in the region and the importance of using them to achieve stability and greater security and prosperity.
President Al-Assad described the UAE’s positions as rational and moral, and its role in the Middle East as positive and effective.
The Emirati leadership agrees with Syria on the need to strengthen bilateral relations among Arab countries in order to reach a joint action that unites them and benefits the interests of their peoples.
The two leaders also agreed that the lack of harmony and breaking of relations are wrong principles in politics, and it is normal that relations between Arab countries should be strong and fraternal.
Meanwhile, the Emirati president stressed the importance of Syria’s return to its Arab environment, and reiterated that his country will maintain its solidarity with the Syrian people.
Al-Assad began today an official visit to the UAE, the second of its kind by the Syrian leader to this Arabian Gulf nation since the outbreak of the war in 2011, the first was made in March 2022.
This is the third trip abroad in less than a month and was preceded by one to Russia and another to Oman.
