Cuba congratulates Namibia on 33rd independence anniversary

Havana, Mar 21 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) on Tuesday congratulated the brotherly people and government of Namibia on its 33rd independence anniversary.

On Twitter, MINREX reaffirmed Cuba’s interest in continuing strengthening cooperation and solidarity relations with Namibia.

Namibia achieved independence from South Africa on March 21, 1990, following successful conclusion of elections supervized and controlled by the United Nations.

For this purpose, Cuban internationalist forces was essential, which contributed to defeating the apartheid troops and its international sponsors.

Hundreds of Cuban collaborators in health, education, sports, construction and other areas have served in Namibia.
