The agreement was one of those derived from the 20th Meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the two nations, headed by Foreign Ministers Bui Thanh Son and Prak Sokhonn.
The two sides also agreed to continue high-level exchanges and maintain existing bilateral mechanisms, implement the agreements reached, strengthen ties between the two economies and to promote investment.
There are currently 205 Vietnamese investment projects -worth $2.94 billion – in cambodia, making it the largest ever in Southeast Asia and the fifth largest among all those present there.
Prior to the Joint Commission meeting, the Vietnamese and Cambodian foreign ministers held a meeting to strengthen cooperation, especially between neighboring provinces, and to speed up demarcation of the border boundary in the missing stretch.
