During the meeting, they informed the Cuban diplomat about the work they do at the shop, called Cohiba Atmosphere, and their links with other entities with the same purpose or stores in the Balkan region, such as Casa de Puros in Montenegro.
The Cuban ambassador, in turn, explained the current economic situation in his country as a result of the economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States and the effects of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also spoke about the effects of climate change, a global problem that has intensified natural disasters, including hurricanes that has damaged the infrastructure of the tobacco sector in Cuba.
In that regard, the representatives of Casa del Habano noted that they were informed and wished for a better situation and recovery by 2024.
Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the meeting and their willingness to work with new actions to improve the promotion of that Cuban product in Serbia, Montenegro and the whole Balkan region.
Belgrade’s Casa del Habano is located in the heart of the city and opened in late 2006, as part of an international chain with more than 170 venues.
