For its part, the Russian media outlet said that the payment system in question is still working on the issue of international acceptance of the cards in other countries, including Cuba, which is very popular among Russian tourists.
A couple of weeks ago, Russian Ambassador in Havana Andrei Guskov pointed out that the necessary procedures to integrate the Mir system in Cuba were about to be completed.
The operation with Russian cards will facilitate the development of Cuba’s tourism, which is also growing due to the increase in flights to Havana and other cities.
