Vietnam challenges Washington’s report on human rights

Hanoi, Mar 23 (Prensa Latina) The Vietnamese Government here contested the U.S. State Department's Annual Human Rights Report 2022, which provides inaccurate information on the real situation existing in this nation.

We regret that the report presents some unbiased statements, based on inaccurate information about the actual human rights situation in Vietnam, Deputy Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stressed.

At a press conference, the spokeswoman reassured that Vietnam is always willing to discuss, with the U.S. frankly, openly and constructively, issues where differences exist to enhance understanding and contribute to the development of bilateral comprehensive partnership.

Referring to the announcement of the plan by the Aukus strategic military alliance of the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia to outfit the latter with nuclear submarines, Thu Hang assured that peace, stability, cooperation and development of the region and the world are common goals of all nations.

Vietnam hopes that countries will bear the responsibility to actively contribute to this common goal, the local foreign ministry spokeswoman said.
