Mexico starts intense campaign in schools against synthetic drugs

Mexico, Mar 29 (Prensa Latina) President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced in his daily morning conference at the National Palace on Tuesday a vigorous campaign against drug addiction in the school sector.

Dedicated to the subject of health care, the conference covered the very serious problem that is occurring with the penetration of the drug trafficking mafia in the school sector in an effort to create addiction in human beings from a very early age.

The president informed that next April, the Federal Government will start an intensive campaign in schools, called “Si te drogas, te dañas,” (If you drug yourselve you damage yourself) to raise people’s awareness about the harm caused by synthetic drugs, which will be complemented by the reinforcement of the intensive broadcasting of radio and television advertisements, mainly aimed at young people.

During the conference, the Secretary of Public Education, Leticia Hernandez, made a wide explanation of how the mafia seeks to penetrate schools, and informed that when the technical councils are held in each school.

Lopez Obrador said that they could dedicate about 15 minutes during three days a week to the subject or, if considered pertinent, it could even be on a daily basis.
