Spain’s Workers’ Commissions (CCOO) joins to defend Cuba

Madrid, Mar 29 (Prensa Latina) Spain's Workers' Commissions (CCOO) on Wednesday joined the defense of Cuba and rejected its "unjustified inclusion in the unilateral list of countries supporting terrorism. In a public statement, the CCOO, Spain's second-largest trade-union federation after UGT, emphasized its support for the decision taken at the 28th Ibero-American Summit held in Santo Domingo, which rejected the measure promoted by the United States.

The document pointed out that the idea would have negative effects, such as exacerbating the obstacles to financial transactions.

CCOO calls on the Spanish Government and the European Union to redouble efforts with the Government of the United States to remove Cuba from that list and end the illegal blockade against the Caribbean nation, the trade union’s text stated.

Spain’s General Union of Workers (UGT) strongly condemned the US political and economic harassment against Cuba while reassuring its support for Cuba.
