Russia successfully launches new military satellite into orbit

Moscow, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) The Soyuz-2.1v light-class transport rocket, launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, successfully put a military space probe into orbit, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.

At the scheduled time, the space probe entered the target orbit and was put under control of the command post, while maintaining a stable telemetry link with the spacecraft, the Defense Ministry added.

It noted that the onboard systems are operating normally and the spacecraft has been assigned the serial number Kosmos-2568.

The experts have included the information about the satellite in the main catalog of objects under Russia’s outer space control system and have started the analysis and processing of the information about it.

It was the sixth launch of a Russian rocket so far in 2023 and the second to be carried out from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome.

Last year, 13 of Russia’s 22 rocket were launched from the space station.
