DPRK condemns new U.S. accusations on human rights

Pyongyang, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) The permanent representative of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the UN in Geneva, Han Tae Song, rejected the latest accusations on human rights stated by the United States against Pyongyang .

In a dispatch, the Korean diplomat noted that the 52nd session of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council forcibly passed the so-called anti-DPRK ‘human rights resolution’, which no one really recognizes.

The DPRK delegation categorically condemns and totally dismisses this document prepared by Washington and its supporters, as a new political provocation and unpardonable hostile action, Han stressed.

He said they dared to criticize national laws unanimously adopted by the Korean people to defend their sovereignty and security against sabotage attempts and military threats by the U.S. and other hostile forces, interfering in the internal affairs of an independent country.

If the UN Human Rights Council, which has the mission to protect and promote the general rights of human beings, bows down as now to the coercion and arbitrariness of Washington and Western forces, it will be the object of condemnation of the world and will be abandoned, Han warned.

The DPRK will never forgive any hostile act of the U.S. and its followers against the power and dignity of the nation and will do everything in its power to defend the government and the true rights of the people, the statement concluded.
