MSMEs in the province of Cuba contribute to import substitution

Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) The Mipyme Combinado Cárnico Jamones Richard, from this central province, today joins the private sector entities that contribute to substitute imports by closing contracts with various local and national companies.

As Prensa Latina learned in the First Round of Opportunities and Businesses in Sancti Spíritus, this entity from the municipality of Cabaiguán, specialized in the production of sausages and smoked products, signed a contract with the Cimex Sancti Spíritus group, the Caracol S.A stores and the Ciego de Avila branch of Cimex.

Rigoberto Rodríguez, in charge of the group, told the press that the priority is to continue expanding our offers with the highest quality and advance in the certification of products with the advice of the National State Inspection Office necessary for the sampling of assortments.

He commented that the recent Round of Opportunities demonstrated the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (Mipymes) for the national economy, a space where actors from different forms of management can link up, position local products and services.

The strategy, he added, is to progress, create jobs and offers that benefit both state entities and markets lacking the assortment of large companies, as well as being closer to the needs of the population.

This entity won the Grand Prix of the event and that of Popularity, by standing out for the quality of its offers and showing progress in the chaining of its productions and establishing commercial relations with hotel and recreational facilities in the center of the island.

Other economic actors also participated in this event, such as the MSME Sabor Mágico, also from Cabaiguán, oriented to prepare food and dairy products destined for the market in national and freely convertible currency (MLC).

This dependency has contracts with the Municipal Company of Commerce and Gastronomy of Trinidad, the Cimex branches of the provinces of Sancti Spiritus and Ciego de Ávila, the Islazul Hotel Group and it is negotiating a new one with the Cubanacán S.A. Hotel Group.
