Daniel-Ortega-500x375
Managua, Apr 16 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua maintains a frontal fight against poverty despite attempts by the U.S. government to take and occupy the country, said President Daniel Ortega here.

During a meeting the day before with the head of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Lou Zhaohui, the president stressed that the northern nation continues to finance the instruments of aggression and war to try again a coup d’état.

In that sense, Ortega recalled the violence of April 2018 and how the European empire subordinated to the North American one joined in, but thanks to the decision of the people the coup was aborted.

‘The conditions we had until 2018 of peace, stability, security, economic growth, progress in the fight against poverty we have managed to retake’, he said.

He added that there was a great national convergence for peace, work and development, and the economy was growing, but there were groups organized by the intelligence agencies of the United States to do damage, sabotage, kill and destroy.

He alluded to the role of the Catholic Church and some priests in favor of the violent actions used by several religious institutions to support the coup.

The Sandinista leader recalled that the coup groups were emboldened and continued attacking ‘and there was no other way but to use what is used everywhere, the Police and the volunteer policemen who quickly reestablished order.

Similarly, he mentioned the international campaign of slander to weaken Nicaragua led by Washington, UN agencies, the Organization of American States and some agencies of the European Union.

‘We have a people who know what peace means, because we totally recovered peace and we are in a period of growth, in a period of improving the conditions of all Nicaraguan families’, he stressed.
