Mexican president to be discharged before week’s end

Mexico, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) Mexican Secretary of the Interior Adan Augusto Lopez said on Wednesday that President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who suffers from Covid-19, will be discharged before the week's end and will resume his work.

At the regular presidential press conference at the National Palace, which he is heading in substitution for the president, Lopez insisted that the president’s health continues to evolve very well and the doctors’ prediction is that he will return to his normal activities soon.

He regretted the actions of some media outlets that campaigned and distorted Lopez Obrador’s illness, and accused them of having “a rotten soul” about the president’s health, and in view of this policy by his adversaries, he assured that he and the Secretariat of Health are forced to speak the truth.

Regarding the activities that were scheduled before Lopez Obrador’s illness, the secretary of the Interior pointed out that his agenda might have adjustments and, if so, his activities will be announced, but we must wait until he tests negative for Covid-19.
