Slovakian politician promises to stop weapon supply to Kiev

Bratislava, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) Former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said Thursday that he would stop weapons supply to Ukraine and oppose sanctions on the Russian Federation.

Fico stated that if his party wins the September 2023 parliamentary elections, he will not support Ukraine’s application to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as it is the biggest nonsense.

Fico stated that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would mean the beginning of a third world war. According to the Direction-Social Democracy agency, Slovakia’s largest parliamentary opposition party, led by Fico, currently leads in all polls.

On March 22, the Slovak Ministry of Defense announced that Ukrainian specialists would work on accepting the MiG-29 fighter jets, which will be delivered to Kiev free of charge.

On March 23, ChTK announced the transfer of the first four of 13 aircraft withdrawn from the country’s air force last year.
