Delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba arrives in Laos

Vientiane, Apr 28 (Prensa Latina) A delegation from the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) led by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, Roberto Morales, arrived this Friday for a three-day official visit to Laos.

The trip of Morales and his companions is part of a visit to three socialist countries in Asia, which began last Sunday in China, where they carried out an intense work-schedule in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai.

The tour is valued as an opportunity to continue promoting political dialogues at the highest level and the development of economic, commercial, financial and cooperative relations with three sister nations such as China, Laos and Vietnam, the last stage of the tour.

Morales’s visit to Laos comes scarcely six months after the one made by Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, who thanked Laos for its unchangeable support against the blockade imposed on Cuba by the US government.

During his stay in Laos, the Cuban Head of Government announced a donation of half a million doses of vaccines against Covid-19 to contribute to the immunization of the people of Laos and ratified Cuba´s will to continue fortifying the friendly ties and close collaboration between the two nations.

In a video conference, held last year, the top leaders of the PCC and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Miguel Díaz-Canel and Thongloun Sisoulith, the also President of Cuba, Dóaz-Canel, praised the consistency of the relations that unite the two countries, despite being geographically, linguistically and culturally distant.
