Bolivia and Brazil strengthen bilateral ties and integration

La Paz, May 4 (Prensa Latina) The official visit to Bolivia by the Foreign Minister of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, in order to review bilateral relations, will surely strengthen ties between the two countries and also enhance regional integration.

A statement from the Bolivian Foreign Ministry, delivered to Prensa Latina, assures that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Mayta, received confirmation of Vieira’s visit through an official dispatch from the embassy of Brazil in Bolivia.

Bolivian President Luis Arce attended the inauguration of his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, and held a meeting with him at the Itamaraty Palace on January 2nd.

Regarding the issue of electrical energy, Bolivia has been coordinating with Brazil, since 2021, the “Binational Hydroelectric Inventory Studies of the Madera River and Main Tributaries” project, with the purpose of taking advantage of the energy potential of the waterways.

Sources from the Bolivian Foreign Ministry commented that both parties are fine-tuning agreements in the spheres of agriculture, industry, border security, and the development of the binational corridor.

The route will ease the exports of Bolivian products to the Pacific markets quickly and efficiently.

Bolivia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani confirmed to the press that Vieira will hold meetings with President Arce, Vice President David Choquehuanca and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Jerjes Mercado.
