Economic challenge focused by the Cuban Communist Party

Hanoi, May 4 (Prensa Latina) The attention of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) is focused on the economic challenge, aimed at solving the main problems that generate dissatisfaction and discomfort among the population, Roberto Morales said here today.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the member of the Political Bureau of the PCC stressed that, above all, it is focused on the construction of socialism, to which “the vast majority of Cubans aspire and want, and which must also be prosperous and sustainable in order to improve the quality of life of the people”.

Referring to the tour that concludes today in this capital and that previously took the Cuban party delegation he heads to China and Laos, the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC pointed out that it fulfilled the objectives proposed for each of the countries visited.

It was possible to recover the face-to-face exchanges with the different parties of those nations that the Covid-19 pandemic limited and were maintained only virtually, he said.

He emphasized that in each of the countries visited, theoretical inter-party seminars were held, the fifth in the cases of China and Vietnam and the first in Laos, which allowed deepening and broadening relations with these political organizations.

The meetings, he added, made it possible “to evaluate the best experiences and those obstacles that we have had to overcome throughout all these years in the construction of socialism”.

Morales also considered it very important to follow up on the consensus reached by the first secretary of the PCC and Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, with the top leaders of the Communist Parties of China and Vietnam and with the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

On the other hand, he stressed the significance of the agreements resulting from the exchanges that resulted from the tour to ensure the continuity of this new period of work between the leadership of the PCC and each of these organizations, and that this contributes to the attention of those issues that constitute real challenges in each country.

In the case of Cuba, he said, “there is the political-ideological challenge, but above all the economic challenge, which is aimed at solving the main problems that generate dissatisfaction and discomfort in our population”.
