The armed group issued a strong warning to the Atlantic Alliance, which has forces stationed in Iraq for so-called training activities, and warned that it “will cut off the hands of NATO” if it does not stop its actions.”
In a statement issued on Friday, the group assured that the alliance will pay a high price if it does not stop these actions, and recalled that the capture of several Iraqi citizens in December 2021 who were spying for the Norwegian Intelligence Service, a NATO member country, uncovered the involvement of the military bloc in destabilizing activities on Iraqi territory.
Ashab al-Kahf denounced the Norwegian service’s involvement in the smuggling of explosives from Iraq to other countries and vice versa, an operation carried out under the umbrella of the humanitarian NGO NPA (Norwegian People’s Aid) which is allegedly dedicated to demining activities in the Arab country.
According to the communiqué, Israel’s espionage services intended to smuggle the explosive material to Iran and Syria, with the help of Norwegian intelligence, to be used in acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks.
