The statement assured Raisi held talks with senior Syrian officials to discuss avenues to expand and strengthen relations on the basis of a strategic alliance between the two countries.

Al-Assad and Raisi expressed their readiness to take all measures to develop trade, economic and reconstruction cooperation in Syria.

Both rulers also expressed their mutual satisfaction with results of the joint crackdown on terrorism and extremism, and also laid stress on the joint cooperation to permanently eliminate all terrorist groups.

Al-Assad and Raisi condemned coercive, unilateral and illegal measures taken by the United States and the European Union against Iran and Syria, which violate international law and human rights, and stressed the need for an immediate end to these inhumane acts.
